Week of September 24, 2018
Noah and the Flood
Trust in the Lord with all your heart.
This week we will listen to stories (fairy tales), recite rhymes and songs (nursery rhymes), learn about the ABC's (specifically Jj-Nn), "read" environmental print, and establish important Literacy Center behaviors and routines.
We will start to understand the relationship between quantities and whole numbers, make one-to-one correspondence between objects and numbers, and learn that different objects can be used to represent numbers. We will also begin to develop the habit of looking for and making use of patterns which makes math reasonable and worthwhile.
Introduction to Science
We will continue learning what Science is and learn to use some of the tools that Scientists use to do their job, including our senses.
Each month we will have a color of the month and a shape for the month. For the month of September our color of the month is red. We will be using red for as many activities as possible. Our shape of the month is a circle. To help with the correlation between a shape and objects in our world, we have a space in our classroom to make a collection of flat circle shaped objects. Please help your child find an object or two for our collection, put his name on it, and send it to school. The objects will be returned at the end of the month.

First Quarter Mission Project
Our Mission Project for the first quarter is World Vision. We learned in chapel on Friday that there are many children in the world that do not have clean water to drink. For every $50 we collect, one child will get clean water for a lifetime. We have a container in our classroom so an offering can be brought any day and put in the container on our altar. On Friday, we take the offerings that are in the container to chapel.
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up.
