We're a Family
Letter of the Week
We will be having Structured Sharing. Our sharing days are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. On Monday, we will meet our Alpha-Friend for the week and on Friday we will be doing a writing activity using the thing we brought for sharing. Your child may bring something to share any of those days (Tuesday-Thursday) that starts with the sound for Tt as in tiger.
Word of the Week
Keep working on your Lego Words!
We will be matching sets of objects to number cards. This prepares the guys for matching coins to a value and provides an opportunity for them to apply what they leaned about one-to-one correspondence. We will also be naming shapes based on their attributes, which include color, shape, and size. Using three attributes to identify and describe two dimensional shapes helps prepare the children for more advanced sorting and problem solving skills using patterns and geometry.
Stories of the Past
We can learn from stories about the past. We will compare and contrast how people worked and played long ago with how we work and play now. We will be looking at objects that people used in the past.
People in the past help make the world the way it is now, so studying them helps us understand life in the present.
Our color for the month of November is brown. We will be using brown for as many activities as possible. We will learn American Sign Language for brown. We will also work on how to spell brown. Our shape of the month is a triangle. To help with the correlation between a triangle and real objects in our world, we have a space in our classroom to make a collection of flat triangle shaped objects. Please help your child find an object or two for our collection, put his name on it, and send it to school. The objects will be returned at the end of the month.

Second Quarter Mission Project
Our Mission Project for the second quarter is Timber Bay. We learned in chapel on Wednesday that Timber Bay is a place that works with young people to help them navigate life. Timber Bay strives to create a sense of purpose, belonging, and community with youth, emphasizing self-worth, forgiveness, freedom from guilt, accountability, and a balanced perspective of authority and freedom. We have a container in our classroom so an offering can be brought any day and put in the container on our altar. On Friday, we take the offerings that are in the container to chapel.
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up.
1 Thessalonians 5:11
Our focus word for the month of November is gratitude.
Our Bible verse is: Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:18
