Letter of the Week
The sound for Xx that we will be learning is /ks/. That sound is only found at the end of words.
Number Partners, Problem Drawings, and Tens
Unit 4, reviews and builds on our understanding of addition and subtraction story problems so the children will be asked to create story problems for addition and subtraction equations. We will continue number partner work for partners 2-6. We will also continue to practice visualizing teen numbers as a ten and extra ones. We will make 2-dimensional patterns on triangular grids.
The color for March is green. We will be using green for as many activities as possible. Our shape for the month is a cylinder. We will make a collection of cylinder (or can) shaped things in our classroom. This helps the children make the connection between a shape and the shape in the real world. Each child is invited to bring a can shape or two to add to our collection. These shapes will be returned at the end of the month.
